The Dog By the Lake On the Wall of My Room, a painting by Donald Roller Wilson

THE DOG BY THE LAKE ON THE WALL OF MY ROOM
HAS NO THOUGHTS OF A HIGH HEELED SHOE
WHICH COMES UP FROM BEHIND ON THE FOOT OF A GHOST
WHO WAS PIERCED BY A FRUIT—(SOME WOULD FEAR)

BUT I LOOK THROUGH EYES OF THE FACE OF A LION
AND THE DEER LOOKS THROUGH EYES OF A DEER
WHILE BARBARA LOOKS INTO A ROOM OUT IN FRONT
AND WAITS FOR HER SOUL TO APPEAR

WHILE SHIRLEY LOOKS INTO A BELL GLASS JAR
AND WAITS FOR HER SOUL TO APPEAR
